Chasing Lightning Bugs [Paperback] Galusha, Ami and Widdifield LIMHP, Lynn Flint

On February 25, 2019, my brother was murdered and my life was turned upside down in an instant. From that moment on, I became a member of the club nobody wants an invite to. My brother was gone.
That is where my grief journey began. I felt helpless and hopeless. I needed help – I started going to grief counseling, and that’s where I found healing and comfort.
Early on in my grief, I had a hard time explaining how I felt. My counselor asked me if I had ever written, which I hadn’t. For my assignment that week, she asked me to write something about my brother. I decided to write about his eyes.
Reading that piece at my next session, she was blown away. For the first time, I felt release. I couldn’t always find the words in real time, but I could write them. I learned that as I wrote, it allowed me to connect with him. After a few more writing assignments, I created my blog, “Chasing Lightning Bugs.” Here, he was alive and safe.
My goal since his murder has been to help fellow grievers. Sadly, grief isn’t talked about enough. My hope is for this book to not only tell my story, but to help others along their grieving journey.
Together, we can get through what we can’t get over.
