The Wind from the Stars: Through the Year With George Macdonald Reid, Gordon
1 in stock
George MacDonald (1824-1905) was a poet, a storyteller and a preacher – a lover of God, humanity and nature. He was loved and valued by such writers as C.S. Lewis and G.K. Chesterton. This new anthology demonstrates the “width” of his understanding, the “depth” of his heart, and the “height” of his love of God. It is an introduction to the deep mysteries of God, to “good news from heaven.”
These 366 extracts, drawn from MacDonald’s many novels, poems, sermons, and tales of fantasy, have been arranged thematically for private reading and meditation throughout the year. They show evil being overcome by goodness, pain by courage, dullness by humour. Above all, they show death overcome by life.
